Inbound and outbound?

Most use cases are for RECEIVING sms only.

If a customer wants to use sim hosting for sending sms over the sim card let them know it's possible but very restricted and limited. Most sim card providers do not want you to send SMS from the sim card in bulk and they can block your cards in case of abuse. This solution only works for low outbound traffic.

Most of our customers use the sim card to receive SMS only; the most common use for sim hosting is to receive OTP/2FA codes.


Example use case:

An IT company who has a lot of platforms where 2FA/OTP codes are used can use our sim card service to capture those 2FA OTP codes and forward them to email, slack or microsoft teams. So each employeer does not have the 2FA codes on his personal devices but centralized in a Teams or Slack channel.


Billing

You pay to us a fixed license fee for the 24/7 hosting, monitoring of your simcard.

There are no extra costs for inbound messages and Smstools does not charge a fee per outbound message sent over your sim card.


What can you do with Smstools SIM Hosting?


Automatically forward incoming SMS

Receive SMS messages and automatically forward them to email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or a webhook. This is ideal for 2FA/OTP verifications where incoming codes need to be processed quickly.


Send SMS from your own SIM card

Send messages using your own mobile subscription for internal communication or specific applications. Integrate with API, Zapier, and Make.com – Automate the processing and sending of SMS messages within your existing systems.


Notes

Providers impose restrictions on the number of messages that can be sent per SIM card. For high throughput, we recommend using a virtual SMS number, which can be obtained through our system. Smstools is not responsible if your provider blocks your SIM card due to improper use. Always check your provider’s terms and conditions before using your SIM card for SMS hosting.


Who is this SIM Hosting solution NOT suitable for?

  • Marketing campaigns – Providers limit the number of messages per SIM card.
  • High SMS volumes via SIM cards – Choose a virtual SMS number instead, which has no limits for large-scale messaging.
