Can I use virtual numers to receive 2FA/OTP messages?

Our Virtual Mobile Numbers (VMNs) can be used to send and receive SMS messages but NOT for receiving 2FA/OTP messages.

These numbers are designed for two-way communication from an application with a person.

The numbers are not set up for receiving traffic from an application system like the ones that generate verification codes. (e.g. receiving bank MFA codes)

Virtual Numbers cannot be to be used to verify user accounts for receiving login codes to verify user account and especially those of financial institutions. This is strictly prohibited by the mobile operators and the use of a Virtual Number to receive OTP can result in the suspension of the account.

Note: in case you look for a solution to receive 2FA/OTP messages we can advice you to look into our SIM hosting solutions. They are capable of receiving OTP/2FA

Do you have 06 numbers for the Netherlands?

No, Dutch telecom providers do not allow 06 numbers for Virtual numbers because of number shortages. In Netherlands we have 096 or 097 number ranges. Here you can see all available Dutch/Holland numbers: https://www.smstools.nl/nl/virtualnumbers

However you can purchase a SIM Hosting solution and ship us a 06 sim card so that works almost identical.

Can I change the Sender Name for my Virtual number?

No, if you have purchased a virtual sms number, receivers will see your virtual number as the sender of the messages.

They will not see a sender name (text).

You cannot combine both. Receivers will see a number (VMN number) or a text sender (for example: YourName)
