Message Sending Limits: Protect Your Account from Unexpected Usage

To help prevent accidental or unauthorized message sending, you can configure sending limits for your account.

Navigate to:

Extra → Security → Sending Limits

What are Sending Limits?

Sending Limits allow you to define the maximum number of messages that can be sent from your account within a specific period.

You can configure:

• Hourly Limit – The maximum number of messages that can be sent during a single hour.
• Daily Limit – The maximum number of messages that can be sent during a single day.

Why should I use Sending Limits?

Sending Limits provide an extra layer of security and help you:

• Prevent unexpected costs caused by accidental message campaigns.
• Reduce the impact of compromised user accounts or API credentials.
• Maintain control over message volumes.
• Detect unusual sending activity more quickly.

How does it work?

Once a configured limit has been reached, the platform will automatically prevent additional messages from being sent until the next time period begins.

Example

• Hourly Limit: 500 messages
• Daily Limit: 5,000 messages

If 500 messages are sent within one hour, no additional messages can be sent until the next hour starts.

If 5,000 messages are sent during the day, message sending will remain blocked until the next day begins.

What happens to messages after a limit is reached?

Once a sending limit has been reached, new messages will still be registered in the platform for reference and reporting purposes.

However, these messages will:

• Not be delivered
• Not be charged
• Not be retried

This allows you to maintain a complete record of attempted message activity while ensuring that no additional messages are sent beyond the configured limits.

Best Practices

• Set limits slightly above your normal sending volume.
• Review and adjust limits regularly as your usage grows.
• Configure both hourly and daily limits for maximum protection.

Note

If no sending limits are configured, message sending will not be restricted by hourly or daily thresholds.
