What is a landing page in Smstools

A landing page is a unique URL that you can add to your SMS message. When the recipient clicks on this link, a page opens with additional information or a specific action.

What makes landing pages special is that they are unique per recipient. For example, if you send a campaign to 100 people, each person receives their own unique URL.

Important: Do not modify the URL

It is very important that the URL is not altered in the message.

The URL contains a unique code, for example:

  • [CODE] → this is an automatically generated unique code per recipient

In addition, the URL also contains a namespace. This ensures that the landing page remains correctly linked to the appropriate campaign or content.

Neither the [CODE] nor the namespace may be modified, removed, or changed. If this does happen, the landing page may not function correctly.

What types of landing pages are there?

You can link three different types of content to a landing page:

WEB

With the WEB option, you can display a simple web page.

  • You set a title and text
  • The recipient sees a page with this content when they click the link

This is useful for quickly sharing information without having to build a separate website.

URL

With the URL option, you can redirect the user to an external website.

  • You can shorten a long URL
  • Ideal for links with UTM tags or tracking parameters

The recipient clicks the link in the SMS and is immediately redirected to the configured web page.

PDF

With the PDF option, you can attach a document to the landing page.

  • You upload a PDF file in the system
  • When the recipient clicks the link, the PDF is opened or downloaded

This is especially useful for things like:

  • Schedules
  • Brochures
  • Overviews or documents you want to share
