Start verification
- Click "Start verification" under "Business Verification Status".

4. Prepare your phone number for WhatsApp
Phone number requirements
Your phone number must meet the following criteria:
✅ Owned by you: You must have legal rights to use the number.
✅ Receives calls/SMS: The number must be able to receive verification messages.
❌ Not a short code: Shortcodes are not supported.
❌ Not previously used on WhatsApp: If the number is already linked to a WhatsApp account, you’ll need to delete it first.
How to check eligibility
- Test receiving calls/SMS on the number.
- Attempt to register the number on WhatsApp to check if it's already in use.
If your number is already registered with WhatsApp
Open WhatsApp on your device
- Use the app where the number is currently active.
Go to settings
- Tap "Settings" (gear icon).
Navigate to account settings
- Tap "Account" > "Delete My Account".
Delete your account
- Enter your phone number in full international format.
- Tap "Delete My Account".
Conform deletion
- Follow the on-screen prompts
